Sidney has completed treatment!!

It is with much joy and excitement that we announce that Sidney has completed the last of her chemo treatments this week!! She will be released from MUSC by 7 p.m. this evening! Now they are going to focus on physical therapy, getting Sidney to eat again, as well as getting Sidney caught up on her school work.

Jessica sends her heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all of the love, support, prayers, and encouragement throughout this entire ordeal. She said that God really blessed her and her family by putting so many wonderful people in their path.

Thank you for walking with Sidney and her family on this journey. We are so sorry that Sidney ever had to go through any of this, but God used this to bring people together and closer to Him. We are so grateful for His healing power. God is soooooo good!!!

We love you, Sidney!

Happy New Year!

PRAISES & GLORY TO GOD!!!!

Good Morning,

Sidney just had a scan, and there is wonderful news that I couldn't wait to share with everyone! There is no cancer to be found in this little girl's body – praise GOD!!!! The tumor is completely gone, and we are so excited that we just want to shout it from the roof tops. Sidney has been through so much since they discovered the cancer at the beginning of the year. Thank you for your prayers and support for this little girl. She still has to complete the rest of her chemo treatments, and she will have to complete therapy as well. She is doing great walking with the braces, and it has been awesome to see this little girl smiling from ear to ear as she's progressed in treatment!! She has chemo today but is hopeful that she'll feel well enough to return home and see a movie with her mom on Friday! Praises and glory to God!

I'd like to ask that you all continue to remember Stephen Strolis in your prayers. Stephen is 13 years old and is paralyzed due to a tumor on his spine.

Thank you,

Shirley

Fight Against Cancer - God's Copy Cats To Perform

Please join us for the Fight Against Cancer event at St. George Baptist Church, 2590 Shillings Bridge Road, Orangeburg, this Sunday, October 25, 2009, at 5 p.m. God's Copy Cats will be performing in honor of Sidney Jones & Stephen Strolis, both local teens fighting cancer. A love offering will be accepted for these cancer patients.

Sidney and Stephen were both able to be present at the beginning of practice last Sunday to have their pictures taken with the Copy Cats. The article and picture should be in The Times & Democrat some time between now and Sunday! Look for their beautiful smiling faces! Sidney and Stephen looked awesome on Sunday, and we were thrilled to have them there!! We look forward to seeing them and performing for them this Sunday!

We love you Sidney & Stephen!

Sidney - chemo yesterday

Sidney had chemo yesterday, and she really doesn't feel good right now at all. She is sick from the chemo, stomach hurts, and has been crying because she feels so bad. Please join us in prayer for Sidney. This is so hard on her little body, but we know that God is going to continue to take care of her and comfort her as only He can. Thank you all.

Update on Sidney

It's been a while since we updated the site - thank you for those that are still checking in here on little Sidney. Jessica also has been updating us on Facebook as well.

Sidney has been doing so good! We are totally excited about that. She is able to get around with the braces on her legs, although she still has some numbness of her hands and legs. Due to this, they have backed off of some of the chemo.

Sidney has been able to hang out with family and friends, play around on the golf cart, and even go swimming! Sidney may even be able to pop in at school occasionally to socialize with her friends.

Jessica returned to work part time this week. Her employer has been so wonderful during all of this! Jessica takes Sidney to MUSC on Thursdays for them to monitor her counts, etc., even if they are not able to administer the full chemo right now.

Thank you for keeping Sidney, Jessica, Adrienne and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
